This Phosphophylite from the series Land of the Lustrous/Houseki no Kuni, sculpted by Papo Digital is in my opinion, a masterpiece of sculpts. Their expression changes depending on the viewing angle, their physique is super defined and looks good from all angles.
Without going into spoiler territory (Read the series if you haven’t!), I wanted to show off all the changes in their makeup since the beginning of the series and really wanted to paint their agate leg haha. The gold used is foiled on the kit. It’s unfortunately not real gold leaf but depending on how you look at it, you could also say it carries a small nod toward Lapis usually containing Pyrite (Fool’s gold). There was an experiment by @garzambiko which I borrowed to add some extra definition to the hair (“wrap painting”, a method using cling wrap to make marble patterns in wet paint). I was going to add the usual sodalite/calcite veins in their hair too but fell in love with how the blue looked.
I feel with this kit, I was able to achieve my goal of trying several new techniques while also making the kit a little more colourful than the original prototype art.
